MediAtor.Solicitor.Arbitrator

In the past few years, I decidedly set about to retrain and retool my qualifications and broad experience as a lawyer in private practice, corporate and third sectors towards the grand aim of becoming an independent specialist in an Alternative Dispute Resolution(ADR) practice. I felt this course of action provided me to be of greater usefulness to disputing parties who demand a greater say in shaping the outcomes of their disputes and their future relationships.

The landscape of dispute resolution both nationally and internationally is ever-changing. Mediation and Arbitration are today becoming the more preferred method of settling disputes. Our current adversarial legal system is being questioned and challenged (perceived by some as long-winded and costly).

My approach to mediation is generally characterised as "non-evaluative", yet this does not diminish the rigour of party coaching, pitching of figures, challenging and reframing as necessary, but I would not advise, express merits, or recommend settlements. This approach in my observation gives you (the parties) the best opportunity for reaching a settlement- and most do!

As an Arbitrator, I have so far had the opportunity of handing down a number of domestic Awards, issued in a timely manner between consumers and traders.

Looking forward, do note that my reach is both local and global and can accept instructions as meditator and/or as arbitrator.

To God be the glory!
